I draw from mindful self-compassion, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic approaches. This means we will:
examine your thoughts and come up with more balanced ways of thinking about yourself, others, and the world around you.
identify how stories from your past play a part in your life today, and which stories you want to keep and which you want to update.
draw awareness to your body in the hear-and-now and understand how your body responds to stress and come up with new ways of responding.
As a therapist, you can count on me as a source of support and validation, to ask you questions, to offer alternative perspectives, and challenge you when needed. I look at concerns through a trauma-informed, feminist, and systems lens, meaning I will acknowledge the systems of oppression and power that intersect with your experience.
Therapy is hard work. But it is not only about exploring your struggles and pain, it's also about uncovering your strengths, celebrating the wins, and learning to laugh a little in the process.
I support women, birthing people, and their partners during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. The transitions to parenthood can bring about difficult emotions and challenges. You may be feeling alienated, anxious, or shameful. Compounded by our increasingly isolated society, unmet expectations of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting may lead you to believe something is wrong with you. There is nothing wrong with you and you are not alone. I specialize in concerns related to the transition to parenthood, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), pregnancy loss, infertility, and birth trauma and I'd be honored to support you through this time.
Whether you're struggling, going through a big life transition or just feel a little meh, therapy is for you. Therapy is a space for you to bring your pain, questions, and fears. It can help you better manage life's challenges and improve your relationship to yourself and others.
Maybe you're not sure what you need. Therapy is good for that too. It's a space to connect to your values and explore your wants and strengths. It's a space for reflection, acceptance, and change. I believe therapy is for everybody. I offer in-person appointments in Seattle and telehealth appointments statewide.
